Studio Background

The Bloomingdale Arts Building strives to foster community through the power of art.  The BAB (for short) was facilitated by then-Mayor Richard Daley as a solution to a gentrifying Chicago by providing affordable housing for established Chicago Artists in the Wicker Park /Bucktown area.   Whether you’re coming in to visit a studio, want to host an event in our Community Spaces or collaborate with fellow artists, we''' help you fill your canvas . We opened our doors in 2003 and have been building community by creating art ever since.  Join us!
